People with HIV (PWH) with a detectable viral load and/or aging with HIV need access to education on the coronavirus pandemic and its impact on HIV care and treatment. The treatment advocacy function, however, does not exist in most ASOs/CBOs as it did in the past during the height of the HIV epidemic.
The "Clinical Considerations for Managing HIV during the COVID-19 Pandemic" webinar, being held Thursday, August 06, 2020, from 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM ET, will provide education and awareness of clinical and behavioral health approaches related to HIV care and treatment in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. Presenters will speak on a wide range of topics including: continuity of care for PWH during hospitalization, the impact of mental and sexual health on overall care, the importance of telehealth during the pandemic, and COVID-19's impact on ASO/CBO service delivery and continuity of care.
