Come join us for an informative and inspiring conversation about best practices for self-care and healing. | | | The Places of Worship Advisory Board (POWAB) will host the One in the Spirit Conference: Healthy Minds and Healthy Spirits on Friday, November 4, 2022 from 12:00pm to 3:30pm at Fraser Mansion, 1701 20th Street NW, Washington, DC. This conference is designed as an opportunity for faith leaders and community members to explore important questions across faith communities, such as: - How can faith leadership promote whole person health in mind, body, and spirit and share best practices?
- How do we create a common vision of wellness through our different faiths and business endeavors?
- How can faith and business leadership practice self-care while helping others achieve healthy minds and spirits?
This event will include two live sessions of the SPEAK On It podcast, featuring special guest hosts Pamela LaVeist-Bell of Serenity Pastoral Counseling and Consulting and Rev. Dr. Orlando Jermaine Bego, pastor at the CenterPoint Baptist Church. The conference will also include presentations on self-care and mental health for faith and business leaders, as well as the role of leadership in confronting HIV stigma. | Free lunch will be provided and a networking opportunity will take place following the conference. Please note that lunch will only be served from 12:00 to 12:30pm. Doors will open at 11:45am. | | | Pamela LaVeist-Bell, LCPC | Pamela LaVeist-Bell is a licensed therapist and minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. She served in private practice for 15 years, providing pastoral therapy for individuals and couples. She utilizes prayer, biblical principles, and evidence-based clinical modalities to create a sacred space where her clients can talk freely about personal issues and receive affirmation of their faith. Prior to opening her practice, Pamela served as a Senior Mental Health Therapist at Johns Hopkins Bayview. She earned her graduate degree from Loyola University, and her ministerial license at New Psalmist Baptist Church, under the leadership of Bishop Walter Thomas. | | Rev. Dr. Orlando Jermaine Bego | Dr. Orlando Jermaine Bego is the founding pastor of the CenterPoint Baptist Church and Couch Church, an online community with an in person option. He is also the chief architect of Bego Enterprise, LLC, a strategic consulting, coaching, and corporate training firm.
