Washington, DC - HealthHIV and the National Coalition for LGBT Health applaud the Biden Administration on the appointment of Harold J. Phillips as director of the White House Office of National AIDS Policy (ONAP) – the first appointment to this post since the Obama Administration. This appointment coincides with the 40th anniversary of the first reports of the HIV virus and is an important demonstration of President Biden’s commitment to ending the HIV epidemic.
Mr. Phillips has worked in the HIV/AIDS field for nearly 30 years, most recently leading the Ending the HIV Epidemic initiative for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. ![]() Harold J.
